The 2016 prize for the Jessie Street annual fundraiser was this brooch made by me!

The inspiration was the gum leaf, an Australian native plant. Combining the suffragette colours of white, green and purple. The brooch is made from Australian sterling silver and I have the vein patterns of the eucalyptus leaf of the imprinted on the surface of the silver. Subtle and elegant.

Here is what the winner had to say about her prize.

Dear Connie

I was the lucky recipient of the beautiful and symbolic brooch you made for the Jessie Street raffle, drawn at the lunch yesterday. Thank you for your support of a cause I care about, and for making such a thoughtful contribution.I'm visit the inner west regularly, and will come and visit your shop some time when I can, and thank you personally.
